Storyline: The UNLV track and field team will split the squad this week and attend two different meets. Distance runners Katie Barto and Jenni Lopez head to Ames, Iowa, to compete in the 11th Annual Iowa State Track & Field Classic. Lopez will run in the 5,000 meters on Friday, Feb. 9, and Barto will compete in the 3,000 on Saturday, Feb. 10. The rest of the roster will travel upstate to Reno to compete in the Bill Cosby Invitational on Satur-day, Feb. 10.

Results: Results will be available following each day's competition and posted on the world wide web at www.unlvrebels.com. Results should be available by 6:00 p.m. PST each day.

UNLV: The Rebels are coming off a second-place finish at the Eastern Michigan Invitational in Ypsilanti, Mich. Tianika Sharrieff broke a 10-year-old school record in the high jump, besting Trevaia Williams' 5-9 mark with a winning height of 5-10. That provisionally qualifies her for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Michele Davis also provisionally qualified, clocking 24.21 in the 200 meters. She won both the 200 and the 60, and teamed with Christine Spence, Melanie Williams and Nickeisha Charles to win the 4X400 relay.

Next: The Rebels have no other competitions scheduled before the Moun-tain West Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-24 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
