Tennis Teams Moving On Up

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's tennis team is the top squad in the Mountain West Conference in this week's ITA WingspanBank.Com Rankings, which were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Wednesday.

The Rebels (9-6) moved up five spots to No. 32 after downing four ranked teams in the last two weeks. Individually, senior Nenad Zivkovic (14-7) is the only ranked UNLV men's player at No. 61. The team ranking is the highest for head coach Larry Easley's program since it landed at No. 32 on March 24, 1998. The only other two MWC teams in this week's rankings were No. 63 New Mexico and No. 73 BYU.

Additionally, the Lady Rebels (4-7) moved up 15 spots to No. 60 despite losing their only match last week. Sophomore Aga Abram (10-8) is the only ranked women's player at No. 92. Two MWC teams wre listed ahead of UNLV: No. 36 BYU and No. 47 New Mexico.
