Team Notes On Gambill
OFF THE COURT: Well if you can FIND her, she is always on the go and is not very easy to track down unless it is 6 a.m. and she is in study hall. Other than that she can be found riding a bike, on her skateboard, or on her famous motorized GO PED just cruising... She is usually sporting GAP clothing and a smile on her face. Dayna is always in a good mood and positive. She would probably be seen with a surf board in tow if there was a beach closer, and if you remember the Halloween party, she DID have a BOARD in tow, along with her little neighbor Olivia, who stole the hearts of the Lady Rebels... Rumor has it that she was part of the crew that got caught getting pulled over on the campus shuttle at IN and OUT's drive in... Hmmmmm, that sounds familiar, Tiana!
MOST LIKELY TO BE SEEN ON THE COURT: GETTING Stretched out, again, and again, and WHERE IS DAYNA???? Oh, she is getting stretched. (She kept Ann on her toes.) DAYNA kept herself busy on the court BEING a leader -- "the steering wheel of the bus, the head of the SNAKE" - and by running the plays that she wanted to sometimes and designing her own plays and taking charge of the team while coach Miller's back was turned, as well as avoiding any dirty looks and just PLAYING. Dayna has an awesome court sense and can get you the ball WHEN YOU'RE OPEN, if you think you are or not. She is also known for shooting among the trees down in the post. But she does have great handles and has been seen driving, DISHING, and scoring on everyone -- even in and with the TREES. She came close to breaking some assist records. She also somehow played through the crowd at RENO that chanted "MINI-ME" at her last year.
OTHER HIDDEN TALENTS: Beating pans like drums.
MOST NOTABLE QUOTE: "Hi, guys", "I know, I know, Coach...", " Whatever, DUDE." "C'mon, bro", "Let's go, gang", "Linda, shoot the Sh&*!", "MOTION!"
MISS MOST ABOUT UNLV and BASKETBALL: Well, I'll miss all the little things about this team, especially all the big things we've done. Because, if you appreciate all the little things you will never take the big things for granted. Unfortunately, I will miss my roommate who always had my back. She cooked, cleaned? and taught me a lot about life. I will never forget you, COURT! And Talish, you the only homey I've ever had.
MISS LEAST: Coach Miller's dirty looks.
LEAVE TO THE FRESHMEN: If I can make it, you can make it! Hang in there, guys.
THANK YOUS: First of all, I'd like to thank Jesus Christ for giving me my talent. My family for all of their support and encouragement. All my dorky teammates for always making me laugh. To all my coaches for believing in me. To Larry and Ann, for always looking out for me.
(AND, I want to thank Dayna for being positive all the time which made my job easier on and off the court. I also want to thank DAYNA GIRL for being my buddy on road trips as well as my WORKOUT BUDDY in the weight room will never be the same without you, and I also want to thank you for bringing your brother around.. Dane is a CUTIE... SO MAHALO DAYNA :)
