UNLV sophomore golfer Brandon Askew sits in 10th place after the third round of the Northern Amateur at Sand Creek Golf Course on Wednesday, improving to one-over par with a 71. He is just six strokes behind Indiana University grad Steven Wheatcroft and University of Michigan linkster Andy Matthews, the co-leaders.
Also representing UNLV at the Northern Amateur is junior Robert Sul, who carded a 76 on Wednesday after making the cut after round two. Sul slipped to 27th place overall at six-over par.
The final round of the four-day affair will be played on Thursday.
