UNLV continued its stellar play on the second day of the school's own women's tennis fall invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Saturday.
In singles play, UNLV's Gyorgyi Zsiros defeated Minnesota's Brandi Watts 6-3, 6-2, advancing to take on Rebel teammate Tracie Chong, who defeated LSU's Amanda Mana 7-6, 6-1.
Rebel Amy Hadziosmanovic defeated Minnesota's Andrea Rose 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 and advances to meet teammate Marianne Bakken, who won by double default.
UNLV's Pauline Janus lost to Oklahoma State's Katia Vasylyeva 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles action, Janus and Agnieszka Abram defeated Mana and Rocio Fantilli of LSU, 8-6. Bakken and Zsiros defeated Minnesota's Amy Thomas and Watts, 8-6. Chong and Hadziosmanovic did not play doubles on Saturday, but advance to Sunday's championship.
Both singles and doubles play will conclude on Sunday.
