LAS VEGAS - UNLV has declared 6-foot-2 forward Evelien Callens, an international women's basketball recruit from Belgium, ineligible for athletics competition, associate athletics director for compliance Eric Toliver stated Friday.

"Based on NCAA case precedents and circumstances surrounding the case involving the nature of amateurism violations, we (UNLV) will not be appealing the restoration for her athletic eligibility and have released Ms. Callens from the women's basketball team," Toliver said.

UNLV will report its findings to the NCAA later this week.
