LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior defender Shannon Fredrickson was named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District VIII Women's Soccer Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA).
One of the best backline players in school history, Fredrickson was selected to the district's second team holding an impressive 3.79 grade-point average in accounting. While at UNLV, she played in 71 career games with one assist.
A member of the program's first recruiting class in 1998, Fredrickson has been a Dean's List student every semester and was a Mountain West Conference Academic All-Conference honoree in 2001.
A native of Williamsville, N.Y., Fredrickson will graduate from UNLV in May with a bachelor's degree in accounting with hopes of becoming a certified public accountant in the future.
