CROSSING THE HOOVER DAM
The UNLV women's basketball team (7-3) travels to Northern Arizona for a single non-conference road contest on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 4 p.m. (PST) in Flagstaff, Ariz. The game will be broadcast live in Las Vegas on KSHP 1400 AM radio and via an Internet link on unlvrebels.com with Bob Blum, the dean of West Coast broadcasters, calling play-by-play action for his 16th season with the Lady Rebels.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT
Northern Arizona (6-4): The Lumberjacks host a pair of Mountain West Conference opponents this week with Wyoming on Dec. 31 and UNLV on Jan. 4. NAU has won the last three of its four games and looks to continue on its current win streak. Senior Jen Snitker leads the team in scoring (14.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg). The Lumberjacks have tallied six victories this season against Pacific, UC Riverside, Cal State Northridge, Texas-Pan American, Florida State and Long Beach State. On Dec. 16, NAU lost to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2002-03 Lady Rebel opponent) on the road, 60-58.
SERIES HISTORY
NAU has won only once in 12 all-time meetings with UNLV. The Lumberjacks last defeated the Lady Rebels, 91-72, during the 1997-98 season to snap a nine-game losing streak versus UNLV. The Lady Rebels have won the last two meetings.
LAST TIME VS. NAU
Former Lady Rebel Linda Fr?hlich (1998-2002) scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead UNLV to a 76-72 overtime decision over Northern Arizona on Jan. 4, 2002 in Las Vegas. A Talisha Mitchell free throw with 35 seconds left in regulation knotted the game at 62 sending the game into the extra frame where, UNLV opened with six straight makes at the charity stripe and never looked back.
MILLER VS. THE BIG SKY CONFERENCE
UNLV coach Regina Miller is 6-1 versus Big Sky Conference opponents since her inaugural season in 1998-99. During her tenure, the Lady Rebels have gone an undefeated 2-0 against Northern Arizona, Eastern Washington and Sacramento State. The team's only Big Sky loss in the last four years came against Weber State during the 1999 Cox Communications / Lady Rebel Shootout (75-72 OT).

The Lady Rebels are currently rated No. 83 in the latest WBCA/Summerville RPI Index, while Northern Arizona is rated No. 207. Upcoming opponents: Loyola Marymount (62) and Cal State Fullerton (224).

UNLV will cover more than 10,000 miles during the 2002-03 season, with 8,000 miles being logged in the month of December alone, as the Lady Rebels travel through the states of Texas and Hawai'i for non-conference competition.
