Lady Rebels Take Part in Kids Day America

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's basketball team and head coach Regina Miller will take part in Kids Day America / International on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Henderson.

Kids Day America is a special day dedicated to children's health, safety and environmental awareness in the local community. The event will provide essential information to all attendees on crime prevention, child safety and environmental issues from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Free fingerprinting by the local police department will be provided to all children who attend as well as fire safety tips courtesy of the local fire department.

Black Mountain Chiropractic will perform free spinal exams and scoliosis screenings and will distribute information on disease prevention and health promotion. There will be special appearances by "McGruff" the Crime Dog and local firefighters. Free balloons, snacks, giveaways and prize drawings every half-hour will be distributed.

The event will also sponsor Kids to Kids, a program which collects books for kids in Nevada who do not own books for entertainment, enlightenment or for the expansion of their hopes, dreams and future and Miracle Flights, a program that transports patients and families to specialized medical centers all over the country.
