2002-2003 Schedule

LAS VEGAS - UNLV head coach Regina Miller has announced the upcoming 2002-03 women's basketball schedule which includes a 15-game home slate and a road trip to paradise.

The Lady Rebels, who are coming off their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance, a 23-8 overall record and their 13th best season in school history, return senior All-America candidate Constance Jinks (Chicago, Ill.) along with four returning starters and three highly-touted freshmen newcomers. Miller will enter her fifth season at UNLV, holding an impressive 43-13 record at home in the Cox Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center combined.

UNLV will host top non-conference opponents in UCLA, Arizona and Loyola Marymount in addition to conference rivals BYU, Colorado State and New Mexico, who all advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament field of 64. The Lady Rebels will open the regular season at home with Saint Mary's College, a WNIT participant in 2001-02, on Nov. 23.

The University of Hawai'i Invitational on Dec. 14 and 15 in Honolulu highlights this year's schedule. There, the Lady Rebels will take part in a four-team tournament field consisting of host Hawai'i, Kentucky and Long Island University.

"Overall, our non-conference schedule is very competitive and highlighted with strong teams from the Pac-10 and also teams that compete for their conference title each year," Miller said. "Several more teams will prepare us for conference play."
