MWC Player Of The Week Honors Go To Jinks

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV women's basketball player Constance Jinks was named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week by the league office Monday.

A 5-foot-7 senior guard out of Chicago, Ill., Jinks scored game-highs of 15 and 26 points in a pair of victories over league rivals Wyoming (68-65) and Colorado State (90-71) last week. Also the league's leading scorer, she currently ranks fifth all-time on the UNLV scoring chart with 1,649 points and ninth all-time in assists with 320.

For the week, Jinks averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 52 percent from the field (14-27), 57 percent from three-point range (4-7) and 75 percent from the charity stripe (9-12).

This marks her eighth career weekly award and second of the year. Jinks, an All-America candidate, currently ranks 13th nationally in scoring (20.8 ppg).
