LOS ANGELES - The 68th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team lost 7-0 for the second time in as many matches, this time to No. 1 UCLA at the Los Angeles Tennis Center Tuesday.
UNLV (0-2) could only field five healthy players so the Bruins began the match with wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles before the teams even took the court. UCLA, which improved to 3-0,has not allowed a team point this season.
After the Bruins started the day by winning both completed doubles matches for one team point, they swept singles play. The only competitive match came at the second spot where Rodrigo Grilli took a second-set tie-breaker to win 6-1, 7-6 (4) over Romain Massaro. UNLV is off until hosting its annual eight-team spring invitational on Feb. 14-16 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
