LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's tennis team broke a five-match losing streak by defeating Montana State-Billings 6-1 and advanced to Saturday's semifinals of the 2003 Rebel Classic, which kicked off at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Friday.

In the morning round, 60th-ranked Ball State downed Weber State and No. 65 Central Florida eased by Sacramento State. The Cardinals and Golden Knights will meet in one semifinal, which is scheduled for 1 p.m., while UNLV will face San Francisco, which was an afternoon winner over Southern Mississippi.

The Rebels (2-7) began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. Winning in singles play for the hosts were Henner Nehles at No. 1, Romain Massaro at No. 2, Aviram Salomon at No. 3, Milos Blagojevic at No. 4 and Joel Kielbowicz at No. 6.
