March 24, 2003

ATLANTA - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the Eastman Kodak Company have announced the finalists for the 2003 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Women's Basketball Team.

UNLV's Constance Jinks, a 5-foot-7 senior guard out of Chicago, Ill., was named to the Region 7 Kodak All-America Honorable Mention Team along with Colorado State's Ashley Augspurger, Wyoming's Carrie Bacon, Tulsa's Allison Curtain, Louisiana Tech's Cheryl Ford and Utah's Kim Smith.

She becomes only the sixth Lady Rebel in school history to be named a Kodak All-America honorable mention selection and is one of 49 elite women's college basketball players nationwide vying for the prestigious honor. An All-Mountain West Conference first team honoree the past two seasons, Jinks ended her illustrious UNLV career ranked third all-time in scoring with 1,818 points, ninth all-time in assists (332) and 17th all-time in rebounding (460).

Her basketball legacy also includes being honored a league-record nine times as MWC Player of the Week and selected to the MWC All-Tournament Team enroute to playing in the NCAA Tournament in 2001-02. She still holds the league's single game scoring record (40 points - twice) and single game tournament scoring record (36 points). During her senior campaign in 2002-03, Jinks consistently ranked in the top 20 nationally in scoring (20.2 ppg).

WBCA member coaches of the Kodak/WBCA All-America Selection Committee in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select the Kodak/WBCA All-America Team. The final team will be announced at the Kodak Press Conference on April 4 prior to the WBCA's "Night of All-Stars" to be held at Georgia Tech's Alexander Memorial Coliseum during the 2003 NCAA Women's Final Four festivities in Atlanta.
