LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team opened the 2003 campaign with a 2-0 shutout against Drury in both schools' season opener on Friday night at Peter Johann Memorial Field.

Dominating on the defensive side of the ball, the Rebels (1-0) held the Panthers (0-1) to just one shot on goal en route to the victory.

UNLV junior Annii Magliulo opened up the scoring in the 40th minute on a through pass from senior Erin Egertson.

Sophomore Jessica Brown scored the second and final goal of the game during a scramble after a corner kick in the 57th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Huff recorded the shutout.

UNLV will be back in action on Sunday as it hosts Utah State at 1 pm on campus. Drury will face Southern Utah in the opening game of the doubleheader at 11 am.
