LAS VEGAS - UNLV scored two second-half goals to rally past New Mexico 2-1 in Mountain West Conference women's soccer action on Friday night from Peter Johann Memorial Field. It was the seventh straight win at home for the Rebels and first come-from-behind win of the year. The victory moved them into second place in the conference with a 9-3-2 overall mark and 2-1 in the league, while New Mexico fell to 5-7 on the season, 1-1 in MWC play.

The Lobos took advantage of a defensive breakdown by UNLV to score their lone goal of the game. Midway through the first half, Eryn Paetz sent a high shot towards the goal from 30 yards out that looked to be too high. Rebel goalie Jenna Huff leaped for the ball, but saw it hit the crossbar and land in front of the goal and at the feet of Bridgette Sanchez, who was the only player to have followed the shot. Huff recovered to make a play on the ball but Sanchez beat her to the left post for the score at 28:48.

UNLV would tie the score early in the second half. With the ball on the Lobos side of the field, Annii Magliulo intercepted a pass from a UNM defender in the box, and hit a shot to the left corner to knot the score at 1-1 at the 55:45 mark. The Rebels kept up the pressure, and found the winning score when Jessica Brown drove down the field and fed Erica Frizzell on the left side. Frizzell then hit a perfect cross into the middle of the box to Ashly O'Harrow, who quickly sent a shot to the right side of the goal for the score, giving UNLV the 2-1 edge at 83:45.

Huff finished with three saves in goal for the Rebels, while UNM's Kristen Winters posted three saves and two goals allowed.

The Rebels will next host MWC foe Wyoming on Sunday at Noon at Peter Johann Field.
