LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team, riding a two-game win streak, play out of conference for the last time this season as they take on Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah, on Thursday at 2 pm.
Holding a 10-3-2 overall and tied for first in the Mountain West Conference at 3-1 in the league, the Rebels are eighth in this week's NSCAA West region rankings, and 10th in Soccer Buzz's West region rankings. They are led on offense by senior midfielder Annii Magliulo and junior midfielder Jessica Brown, both tied for first on the team with two goals and five assists for nine points. With five points this past weekend, Magliulo also moved into a tie for first at UNLV with most career points with 66. Jenna Huff continues her outstanding season, posting a 0.77 GAA with 76 saves and seven shutouts for the year.
Southern Utah brings a 4-10 record into Thursday's game, having lost five of its last six games. In their other meeting against a MWC team this year, the Thunderbirds fell at San Diego State 2-0 on Sept. 13. Ashley Smith, Tara Olson, and Chaysie Christensen all have three goals this year for Southern Utah, while Megan Flowers has seen the majority of time in goal, and has a 2.45 GAA with 51 saves.
