LAS VEGAS - The Rebels hope to pick up its first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation win this weekend as the UNLV men's soccer team will take on Denver Friday at 7 pm, and will meet Air Force for an afternoon game on Sunday at noon. Both games will be played at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
UNLV (1-7-0, 0-2-0) is coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 5 New Mexico last weekend. Leading scorers for the Rebels are Rod Dyachenko and Herbert Flores with one goal apiece. Goaltender Peter Clitheroe has 42 saves for UNLV this season.
Denver (5-2-1, 2-0-0), comes in with a two-game win streak. The Pioneers are led by Travis Hendricks, who has scored five of Denver's 23 goals on the season. Other scoring threats are Christian Davis and Scott Davidson who have both notched three goals each for the Pioneers.
Air Force (6-2-1, 2-0-0) is being paced this season by three players, Marcus Sagastume, Josh Sanders, and Colin Eames, all having scored four goals apiece.
The Denver games is "Break the Attendance Night" for the Rebels. Kids under 12 receive free admission and can stay after the game to receive autographs of their favorite Rebels. On Sunday, fans wearing their favorite UNLV hat will receive $4 admission into the game.
