Killoch Picks Up More Honors

Nov. 3, 2004

LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Heather Killoch was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week after leading the Rebels to a 3-0 win over San Diego State on Saturday, giving them the first regular season Mountain West championship in school history. She is the first Rebel ever to receive national weekly team honors in the seven-year history of the program.

Killoch, a sophomore midfielder of Wall, N.J., also was named MWC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. She scored the first goal of the game and eventual game-winner in the Rebels' win at San Diego State. It was the second goal of the season for Killoch, and her second game-winner.

The Rebels finished the regular season at 12-3-2, and won a school record five conference games to finish at 5-1. As the top seed in this week's MWC Tournament, UNLV receives a first-round bye and takes on the winner of Wednesday's #4 Utah-#5 Wyoming contest on Thursday at 3:30 pm in the semifinals.
