For the second straight year, the UNLV Rebels and the Utah Utes will face off against each other in the semifinals of the Mountain West Women's Soccer Tournament on Thursday at 3:30 pm (PST) in Provo, Utah. However, its a reversed situation this year, as the Rebels (12-3-2 overall) are the top-seeded team coming into the day off a first-round bye, while last year it was Utah as the top-seed. The game would finish in a 0-0 double-overtime tie, but the host Utes advanced to the championship game after winning a penalty kick tiebreaker 6-5. Utah (12-5-2) advanced to the semifinals in this year's tournament after posting a 1-0 win over fifth-seeded Wyoming on Wednesday.
