LAS VEGAS - GAME NOTES WYOMING AT UNLV Nov. 6, 2004

Two offensive linemen made their first career starts - OT Mike McKiski and OG Brandon Gray.

Jamaal Brimmer forced his ninth career fumble in the first quarter, which ranks second ever at UNLV and in the Mountain West Conference behind only teammate Ryan Claridge, who has 10.

Dominique Dorsey's 68 first-quarter yards made him the seventh 1,000-yard rusher in school history. He finished the game with 181 yards on a career-high 34 carries to move from fourth into second place on the UNLV career rushing list with 2,699. Dorsey now has the most yards for the Rebels since they moved to Division One in 1978. His previous single-game high for carries was 26. I

Dorsey's 34 carries were the most for any Rebel under John Robinson and the most for the school since Shannon McLean ran 35 times vs. Arkansas State in 1995.

Dorsey leads the MWC with 1,126 yards, which already represents the fourth-best single-season total in school history.

Dorsey posted his third-straight 100-yard rushing game and his sixth of the season, which is the fourth most in the school's single-season history. It was also his 11th career century-mark game, which puts him all alone in second place at UNLV.

Donell Wheaton turned in a career-long 38-yard punt return in the second quarter. The team's previous long for the season was 10, also by Wheaton. UNLV ranked 116th in the nation in punt returns heading into the game.

Sergio Aguayo's third-quarter field goal was the rookie's ninth of the season, which sets a UNLV freshman single-season record. Aguayo is 9-13 for the year and has made seven of his last eight attempts.

UNLV fell to 1-4 at home and lost to Wyoming for the first time in six years.

UNLV and Wyoming forced overtime for the third time in the last seven meetings between the schools. The Rebels dropped to a stunning 1-6 in OT with their only win coming here two years ago vs. the Cowboys.

UNLV played past a single overtime period for the first time ever and scored four more points in this overtime session (14) than it had in the previous six such games combined (10).

LB Adam Seward's career-high 20 total tackles gave him 410 for his career, which extended his school and MWC all-time record. It fell just two short of the UNLV record of 22 by Quincy Sanders vs. Air Force in 1999. Seward's previous career high was 18 vs. Air Force earlier this season.

WR Earvin Johnson caught at least one pass for the 39th consecutive game, which tied the UNLV record set by Damon Williams from 1995-98.

Johnson's season-best tying eight receptions for 107 yards gave him his second 100-yard game in the last three games. He now stands 14 yards short of second place on the UNLV all-time receiving yards list with 2,501. He needs 57 to tie Damon Williams in first place. EJ also needs 13 catches in his last two games to tie Williams' record 187 set from 1995-98.

UNLV's 22 team penalties set a school record and landed just two shy of the NCAA record of 24 set by San Jose State vs. Fresno State on Oct. 4, 1986.

LB Ryan Claridge added two more sacks to give him eight for the season, including 4.5 in the last two games. His season total ties former Rebel Anton Palepoi for sixth-most in a season.

QB Shane Steichen set career highs for attempts (34), completions (20), yards (223) and touchdowns (4). He became the first Rebel to throw for at least four scores in one game since Jon Denton tossed five vs. San Jose State in 1997.
