LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Victor "Boomer" Arbelaez was named to the NSCAA Far West All-Region third team, it was announced last week. This is the first all-region honor for Arbelaez in his career at UNLV, and he is the first Rebel to be named to the all-region team since Kelly Frederick was a second-team selection in 2002.

Arbelaez, a senior midfielder of Las Vegas who started every game for UNLV, was also named first-team All-MPSF last month, for the second straight season. He finished the year with two goals, including a dramatic game-winner with one second left in a 1-0 win over San Jose State on the Rebels' Senior Day. Arbelaez also added one assists for five points for the season.

UNLV finished the season 6-12, and 5-7 in the MPSF.
