LAS VEGAS - Michigan scored two runs in the top of the seventh to thwart an upset bid by the UNLV softball team and come from behind for a 2-1 victory at the UNLV Softball Classic at Eller Media Stadium on Saturday.

UNLV (3-5) held a 1-0 lead through six innings as starter Jacqueline Kerrigan (3-4) worked on a two-hitter. No. 10 Michigan (3-1) began the inning with a short ground ball in front of home plate that took a funny roll out of the reach of Rebel catcher Britney Hillyer. Despite traveling just five feet, the hit resulted in the Wolverines' third hit of the game and the second for Jennifer Olds.

Olds moved to second on a sacrifice bunt before Michelle Teschler found a gap on the left side, pushing the ball through and allowing Olds to motor home from second. That knotted the game at one.

Teschler advanced to second base on the throw home, putting the winning run in scoring position. Two batters later, Rebel shortstop Amber Campbell went deep into the hole nab a ground ball hit by Tiffany Haas. Trying to make a snap throw, Campbell's putout attempt sailed high, and Teschler came around to score.

UNLV scored its only run on a solo homer by Pauline Glenn in the fourth inning.

The Rebels continue play in the UNLV Softball Classic, facing Notre Dame on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.
