TUCSON, Ariz. - UNLV junior golfer Ryan Moore shot a 64 in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament and held a two stroke lead over Oklahoma State's Alex Noren on Sunday.
For Moore, it was the third round of 64 that he has carded this season.
Despite the low score, the Rebels posted a two-under par 286 and are tied for fifth on the team leaderboard. Arizona State leads by three over Southern California after shooting a nine-under 279 at the par-72, 7,094-yard Omni Tucson National Golf Course.
Moore was the only Rebel to finish the day under par. Travis Whisman shot a 73, Ryan Keeney fired a 74 and Andres Gonzales scored a 75 to round out the Rebels' team score. Sam Hunt's 76 was discarded.
Second round play begins at 7:30 a.m. MST.
