LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Athletics Department hosted its annual awards banquets for its men's and women's Olympic sports teams last week as student-athletes from each program were honored for their accomplishments in their respective sports.
Rookie of the Year, Coach's and Most Valuable Player awards were presented by each sport's head coach. The MVP from each team is now eligible to win the UNLV Olympic Sportsman and UNLV Women's Sports Foundation's Sportswoman of the Year awards.
Additional nominees for Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year may be added as the spring season continues.
The Sportswoman of the Year award will be voted on by the UNLV Women's Sports Foundation's board members and the Sportsman of the Year award is voted on by the men's program's head coaches at the conclusion of the spring sports seasons in June.
