FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Rain has forced the postponement of the Rebels' first round Mountain West Conference Tournament game against Utah, slated for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Ram Field.
Instead, the fifth-seeded Rebels will meet the fourth-seeded Utes at 11:30 on Friday, and the game will be an elimination game in the tournament.
Originally scheduled as a double-elimination tournament, the conference decided to adjust the format to a single-elimination after heavy rain and some snow in the Fort Collins area left the field unplayable on Thursday. All of Thursday's games will be played according to schedule on Friday, and the championship game is still slated for 2 p.m. Saturday.
At 25-34 overall, UNLV needs to win the tournament to secure a berth in next week's NCAA Regional. Should the Rebels defeat Utah, they will meet the top seed and host, Colorado State.
