HOUSTON - Jessica Brown scored two first half goals to pace the UNLV women's soccer team to their fourth straight win, 3-0 at Houston on Friday night at Robertson Stadium.
With the win, the Rebels improve to 4-1 on the season, and the four-game win streak ties for the longest in school history in the seven-year history of the program. Houston fell to 0-5 on the year.
Brown netted the first of her two goals with a shot high over the head of goalkeeper Katie Cook at the 2:04 mark for the first Rebel tally of the night. She recorded her second goal at the 12:20 mark when she sailed a kick into the right-side corner past a diving Cook.
UNLV notched its third and final goal at 38:28 by Lori Sakai, who came into the game just minutes before taking the shot for the score.
Houston continued to battle throughout the second half with seven shots on-goal, all saved by UNLV goalie Jenna Huff, who finished the night with eight saves.
Nicole Oliver came in to guard the net for Houston in the second half and recorded seven saves.
The Rebels, who outshot Houston 24-11 for the game, will stay in Houston to take on the Rice Owls on Sunday at 11 am (PST).
