LAS VEGAS - For the second straight game the UNLV men's soccer team will play New Mexico, as the Rebels will host the third-ranked Lobos on Saturday at Noon at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The game is part of a doubleheader with the women's soccer team, as UNLV will face San Diego State at 2:30 pm.
In the first meeting between the two schools, New Mexico (11-1-1, 3-1-1 MPSF) scored five first half goals on the way to a 7-2 victory in Albuquerque on Oct. 22. Jeff Rowland, who leads the team with 11 goals and one assist for 23 points, scored a hat trick in the first 25 minutes to lead the Lobos to the win. In goal for New Mexico is Mike Graczyk, who boasts a 0.69 GAA with 37 saves and eight shutouts.
For the Rebels (2-12, 0-5 MPSF), senior forward Rod Dyachenko is leading the team in scoring for the second straight year with eight goals on the season. Freshman Lamar Neagle is next on the team in scoring with three goals. In goal for UNLV is senior Peter Clitheroe, while sophomore Brett Hafeman could also see time in the net.
