The UNLV women's cross country team finished ninth at the Mountain West Conference Championships, held at Collindale Golf Course on Saturday morning.
BYU won the women's championship, finishing with 27 points to win the crown for the seventh straight time. New Mexico finished second with 74 points. BYU swept both crowns, as the Cougar men claimed the team championship as well. Heidi Magill of BYU won the individual title in the women's race with a time of 20:42.4 as the Cougars claimed three of the top four spots on their way to the title.
Jenni Shearer paced the Rebels with a 48th place finish as the freshman covered the 6k course in a time of 23:34.0. Shearer has been the Rebels' highest finisher at every meet this year.
Shearer was followed by Janessa Hoppe (62nd, 25:37.0), Ali Ainsworth (63rd, 25:51.5), Leta Rose (64th, 26:31.0), Ashley Lif (65th, 26:48.0) and Katie Hughes (66th, 27:55.7).
Colorado State finished third with 75 points, followed by Wyoming in fourth (121 points), San Diego State in fifth (134), Air Force sixth (138) and Utah seventh (189). TCU (192) and the Rebels.
