Box Score

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Marco Ramierz's penalty kick goal in the 100th minute gave Sacramento State a come-from-behind 2-1 overtime victory over UNLV in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer action on Friday afternoon. Both of the Hornets goals came in the final 12 minutes of the game.

UNLV (2-12, 0-7) struck early, as freshman Lamar Neagle scored his fourth goal of the year on a sliding kick on a deflected off a defender in the 5th minute. That lead would almost hold up for the entire game, but Sac State (9-6-1, 4-4) gained new life in the 86th minute when UNLV's Ben Haugland was redcarded, leaving the Rebels shorthanded for the final four minutes of regulation. The Hornets would take advantage, as Eliot Ricks-Chambers would head in a ball off a cross from Brandon Baggett to the left post in the 89th minute (88:04) to knot the score at one apiece.

The Rebels would be given a second record card at 99:48, as Rebel goalkeeper Brett Hafeman was ejected, and the Hornets were awarded a PK. Ramierz converted the kick against Peter Clitheroe to give Sac State the victory.

UNLV was outshot 20-13 for the game, 16-6 after the first half. Sac State also held a 13-4 edge on corner kicks. Hafeman finished with five saves in goal, while Matt McDougall posted seven saves to earn the win.

The Rebels remain in California to take on San Jose State on Sunday at 1 pm.
