LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team slid two spots to sixth in the latest edition of the Golf Coaches Association of America/Bridgestone Coaches Poll, released by the GCAA on Friday.
Georgia received 16 first-place votes to remain perched atop the poll. Georgia Tech remained second and picked up the last first-place nod, while Oklahoma State held on to the number three spot, followed by Duke and Florida.
The Rebels and Tennessee each fell two spots to come in at sixth and eighth, respectively, while BYU climbed two spots to check in between them at No. 7. Arizona State and UCLA closed out the top 10.
The CGAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The Rebels, who most recently finished 15th at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla., on Oct. 25, will be back in action this Monday, Nov. 7 through Wednesday, Nov. 9 as they close out the fall season at the University of Hawaii Fall Intercollegiate.
The tournament will be held at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course (par 72, 6,269 yards) in Kaneohe, Hawaii with 18 holes each day.
The field is made up of Air Force, Baylor, Cal Poly, Central Oklahoma, Drake, Hartford, Hawaii, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico State, North Carolina-Charlotte, Osaka Gakuin, San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, St. Mary's, UC Riverside, UNLV, Weber State and Wyoming.
