SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – Four Rebels shot under par to place the UNLV men's golf team just one shot off the lead in second after Monday's opening round at the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club (par 70, 6,5111 yards).

Trevor Lewis ended the afternoon with a bogey-free back nine to sit in a tie for fifth at 3-under 67. Joining Lewis in the top-15, junior
Zach Little, junior
Mason Snyder with a bogey-free front nine and freshman Aaron van Hauwe each added 2-under 68 rounds to stand in a tie for 11th.
Also competing in the lineup, seniors
Wyatt Plattner (+3) and
Brett Sawaia (+4) are tied for 53rd and 62nd, respectively.
DAY-ONE LEADERS: Cal grabbed the day-one team lead at 7-under. Chattanooga's Evan Rogers and Arizona's Taishi Moto lead all individuals at 5-under 65 through 18 holes.
UP NEXT: UNLV will tee off in Tuesday's second round at noon PT. The Golf Channel's broadcast will air at 4 p.m. PT for three hours.
