LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Nickie Olson was named to Soccer Buzz's All-Region Third Team, it was announced on Wednesday. It is the first-ever all-region honor for Olson, and the third time in school history a Rebel has been named to the Soccer Buzz All-Region team.

Olson, a Las Vegas native who moved to defense for her senior season, was also named first-team All-Mountain West Conference after leading UNLV to a school record 13 wins, its first-ever MWC Tournament title, and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.

The senior, who was named to three National Teams of the Week this season, anchored a backline that allowed a school-record low 13 goals all season. She was also key on offense, scoring three goals and adding one assist, and was named MWC Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2005.
