Rebels Host Unlv Invitational... The UNLV Rebels will play host to their third tournament in as many weekends. Two highly ranked opponents, #1/2 California (1-0) and #16/14 Florida (11-1) - according to the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN/USA Softball Top-25 polls - are making the trek to the Valley, while preseason #24 Southern Illinois recently dropped out of the poll, due to a 2-1 record thus far in 2005. Iowa State and Michigan State round out the six team tournament held at Eller Media Stadium. The Invitational will take place over a four-day span, with 15 scheduled games. Each team will play one another once.
An extra game has been added to Saturday's lineup. Due to rainouts last weekend for California and UNLV, the teams have agreed to play after Saturday's scheduled tournaments games conclude. The additional game will not count towards tournament standings.
