Rebels Return Home With Votes & Win...

UNLV went west and played its final two non-conference games against #18/16 Fresno State on Wednesday night. The Rebels left Bulldog Diamond with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss in game one, but a resounding 13-2 five inning win in the second game. Prior to the matchup, the NFCA/USA Today Top 25 was released and UNLV is back in the receiving votes category. The Rebels picked up five votes and hypothetically would be #29.

With the conclusion of the non-conference slate, the only games remaining are 12 Mountain West Conference games. UNLV hosts San Diego State this weekend before hitting the road for the following two weekends to complete the road portion of its conference schedule.

MWC Competition...

San Diego State:  2005 record:  23-19.Last 5:  1-4.SDSU leads the series, 31-26.Last meeting in 2004, the Aztecs won 6-3.2004 record:  37-23 overall, 14-6 (2nd MWC).In 2004, UNLV & SDSU met four times, with SDSU sweepingthe games.

Saturday Is "Strike Out Cancer Day"...

Saturday, April 16 has been deemed "Strike Out Cancer Day" for the doubleheader scheduled between UNLV and San Diego State. Game one is scheduled for a 5:00 pm first pitch. Game two will begin approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Fans wishing to attend will receive free admission by wearing the t-shirt from 2004's "Strike Out Cancer Day" or by purchasing 2005's edition. Raffle tickets can be purchased for chances to win many great prizes, such as: show tickets, airline tickets, restaurant gift certificates, UNLV gear and much more.
