LAS VEGAS - With the loss of games to inclement weather earlier this season, UNLV has added two non-conference games to its 2005 softball schedule. Prior to its conference doubleheader at San Diego State on Saturday, April 30, the Rebels will make a stop in Los Angeles to play a pair against Loyola Marymount on Thursday, April 28. The doubleheader will be played at the LMU Softball Field and first pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
Currently, LMU sits atop the Pacific Coast Softball Conference standings with a 10-2 conference mark. Overall, the Lions hold a 28-16 record. In the preseason, LMU was tabbed as the odds on favorite to win the PCSC by the league's coaches.
UNLV is in the midst of one of its best seasons since the Rebels' postseason run from 1990 through 1996. The Rebels hold a 32-15 overall record and sit one game back of BYU for the Mountain West Conference lead. Through 37 non-conference games this season, UNLV holds a 24-13 edge.
