LAS VEGAS - The UNLV softball program will be holding three summer camps at Eller Media Stadium in the next two months. All three camps are set for 6-9 pm on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Two camps will take place in June, while the third is set for the end of July. The camps are two days apiece and range from $65 to $120.
The "Pitching/Catching/Hitting" camp is scheduled for June 13-14. Any child or teenager in the 12-18 age range is allowed to sign up for this camp. The pitching and catching portion of the camp will take place from 6-7:30 pm, while the hitting section will begin at 7:30 until 9 pm.
The second camp offered in June takes place on the 27th and 28th. This camp is to teach defensive mechanics to players age 8-18. The camp will provide education on all nine positions with instruction for players to understand the importance of defense in the game of softball.
The final camp, set for July 25th and 26th is for the younger softball player. The "Pee Wee" camp is set up for those players 12 and under, while parents and coaches are welcome to learn the same drills taught to the children. The camp will provide instruction on all aspects of hitting, fielding and base running.
