LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Dixie State in an exhibition contest on Saturday night from Peter Johann Memorial Field.

The Rebels, who outshot Dixie State 16-5 for the game, scored the game-winner in the 21st minute. Junior midfielder Tanya Roberts collected a pass outside the box, and after fighting her way through two players, slotted a shot to the top right corner for the score. The Rebel defense played strong as well, as UNLV was not forced to make a save all night.

UNLV will open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 pm against Cal State Northridge at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
