The UNLV women's soccer team will play on the East Coast for the first time in the eight-year history of the program this weekend, as they will take on Richmond and VCU in the VCU/Eurosport Invitational in Richmond, Va. UNLV meets Richmond in the first game on Friday at 1:30 pm (PST), before taking on host VCU on the second day of the tournament on Sunday at 11:30 am (PST).
Though this is UNLV's first time playing in the eastern time zone, its not their first meeting against VCU. The Rebels defeated the Rams 4-0 in the opening game of the UNLV/Fila Classic in 2003, behind a hat trick from Annii Magliulo, the third hat trick in school history. This will be the first meeting between UNLV and Richmond.
The Rebels are riding a two-game win streak, and are 3-1 coming into the weekend. Richmond is 2-2 after falling to Oregon State 4-0 in its last contest, while VCU is looking for its first win of the year after going 0-1-2 to begin the season.
Friday's game against Richmond will have live stats available on the internet, and can be accessed through a link on the UNLV website (www.UNLVRebels.com), while Sunday's game against VCU will have both live audio and live stats.
