LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team is coming off a hard road trip, and looks to bounce back with a pair of conference wins this weekend, beginning with a Friday night contest against New Mexico. The game will start at 5 pm, part of a soccer doubleheader with the Rebel men, who will also face New Mexico, in a 7:30 pm contest, at Peter Johann Memorial Field. UNLV will then host TCU on Sunday in a 1 pm game.
The Rebels (5-7-1, 0-2) lost a close match at top-20 Utah, 1-0, to begin the conference season, then were handed a 4-1 setback at San Diego State on Sunday. They will look to even their Mountain West record with a pair of wins, beginning with New Mexico in a rematch of last year's MWC Tournament championship game, won by UNLV 1-0 in overtime on the same Johann Memorial Field. The Lobos (6-4-3, 0-0-2) are also looking for their first win of the year, after recording ties against TCU and Wyoming in their last two games.
TCU comes calling on Sunday with a 5-6-2 record, and are 0-1-1 in league play after a tie against New Mexico, and a 2-0 loss to BYU.
