LAS VEGAS - The No. 10 UNLV men's golf team has been seeded eighth for the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship, which begins Sunday at Colonial Country Club in Forth Worth, Texas.

Invitation to the event, which will be held Oct. 29-31, was based on team's finishes at the 2006 NCAA Division I Championship. All 16 teams in this year's event finished in the top 20 at nationals last season.

The Rebels will face ninth-seeded Duke in the first round. The 2003 event's champion, Florida, was awarded the tournament's top seed and the Gators will face Arizona in the first round. The winner will face the victor of UNLV vs. Duke.

Fourth-seeded Oklahoma State vs. 13th-seeded North Carolina State and fifth-seeded Clemson against 12th-seeded Washington completes the top half of the bracket.

Third-seeded UCLA will tee off against 14th-seeded Auburn and the winner will play the winner of sixth-seeded Coastal Carolina vs. 11th-seeded Lamar. Seventh-seeded Texas A&M squares off against 10th-seeded Arizona State, while defending match play champion and second-seeded Georgia battles 15th-seeded Minnesota in the final first-round match.

Five individuals from each team will compete. Available to compete for the Rebels will be senior Ryan Keeney, juniors Jarred Texter, Matt Kinsinger and C.J. Gatto and sophomores Eddie Olson and Blake Trimble.

UNLV's last tournament was the Preview in Williamsburg, Va., Oct. 2-4, where the Rebels finished fourth as a team.
