Final Stats

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Wink Adams scored a game-high 17 points to lead UNLV past Division II Washburn 83-55 Tuesday night.

Adams went 6-of-6 from the field, including 3-of-3 from 3-point range. He also was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. He also had five rebounds and three assists for UNLV (3-1).

Gaston Essengue scored 10 for the Rebels, who led the entire game with the brief exception of the opening minute. Joe Darger added 10 points and Wendell White had eight points and five rebounds for the winners.

Frank Phifer led the Ichabods (2-2) with 12 points and six rebounds. Reed Hein added 11 points going 4-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Andrew Meile had 10 points.

For the game, UNLV shot from the field 30-of-60 for 50 percent, while the Ichabods were 21-of-49 for 43 percent.

The Rebels built a 43-21 halftime lead. Washburn shot 35 percent from the field, while UNLV shot 47 percent.
