LAS VEGAS (AP) - UNLV's Kevin Kruger had 16 points and a career-high nine assists and Michael Umeh added 20 points in the Rebels' 96-88 victory over San Francisco Saturday night.
The Rebels (4-1) had four scorers reach double figures, including Wendell White with 19 points and a game-high seven rebounds and Wink Adams with 17 points.
UNLV opened the game on a 19-6 run before San Francisco scored 12 of the next 15 points in cutting its deficit to 21-18 with 6:12 to play in the first half.
But Adams and Kruger combined for the next eight points and the Rebels extended their lead to double digits.
Manny Quezada had a career-high 25 points and five assists for San Francisco (2-3), but the Dons missed nine of their first 10 shots in dropping their third straight game.
Antonio Kellogg added 17 points, Alan Wiggins had 13 and Armondo Surratt tallied 12.
