Final Stats

LAS VEGAS (AP) - UNLV's Wink Adams had 14 points and Kevin Kruger added 12 in leading the Rebels to their seventh straight victory, a 62-58 win over Minnesota on Friday.

Trailing 41-40, the Rebels took the lead for good on a Joel Anthony jumper with 10:56 to play and went on a 19-8 run to lead 59-49 with 4:02 left in the game. Adams helped spark the rally with a steal and a lay-in.

Minnesota starters Dan Coleman and Lawrence McKenzie fouled out, but the Gophers (5-8) only trailed 61-58 with 43 seconds to play after Lawrence Westbrook banked in a running jumper. Westbrook nearly cut the deficit to one following a UNLV miss, but his 12-footer rimmed out with 14.3 seconds to play.

UNLV (11-2) shot only 35 percent from the field, making just 4-of-18 from the 3-point line. Wendell White and Gaston Essengue each added 10 points for the Rebels.

Minnesota's Spencer Tollackson made a short jumper at the buzzer to help the Gophers take a 29-28 halftime lead. Tollackson finished the night with 13 points.
