UNLV places seven on Academic All-MWC team

LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's track and field had seven members on the 2006 Spring Academic All-MWC team, including three-time selection Deanna Appuglise, the league announced this week.

Appuglise was joined on the team by Ali Ainsworth, Tanesha Carr, Starema Flood, Katie Hughes, Ashley Patin and Olivia Raya. Appuglise was also named a MWC Scholar Athlete.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MWC team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MWC Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
