LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior thrower Krishna Jayasankar has been named the Mountain West Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. This marks the first MW Athlete of the Week nod for the Rebel this season and the first since Natalia Ruiz during the 2023-24 campaign. Additionally, this is the first MW Field Athlete of the Week award for a Rebel thrower since Rosa Santana during the 2023 outdoor season.
Jayasankar claimed first place in the shot put with a winning throw of 15.99m (52' 5.5") at the UNR Invitational. The India native recorded a winning toss 0.80 meters better than the second place performer. The senior is now tied for 21st in the NCAA this season in the indoor shot put.
