LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team posted two goals to claim a 2-1 victory over Dixie State in an exhibition game on Thursday night at Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex.

The first goal of the night came from freshman midfielder Taylor Fuentes, while junior forward Katie Carney scored the game-winner for the Rebels. Both of UNLV's goalkeepers, sophomore Ciera Nero and freshman Alicia Lugo, played one half, and they combined to allow just one goal off a Dixie State free kick.

The Rebels, two-time defending Mountain West Conference champions, will open the regular season on Friday, August 25 at Washington State in a 3 pm contest.
