LAS VEGAS - The fifth-ranked UNLV men's golf team will play in their second tournament of the fall this Friday and Saturday, September 22-23 at the William H. Tucker Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico. The tournament will be played on the Championship Course (par 72, 7,350 yards) in Albuquerque, N.M.
The 54-hole tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday with a shotgun start each day at 7:30 a.m. MT.
This year's field includes Air Force, Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Hawaii, Missouri, Nevada, Reno, New Mexico, New Mexico JV, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, St. Edwards, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming.
Playing for the Rebels will be senior Ryan Keeney, juniors C.J. Gatto and Jarred Texter and sophomores Seung-Su Han and Eddie Olson.
UNLV swept last year's Tucker Invitational winning both the team and individual titles. The Rebels turned in a team score of 13-under 851 to win by 10 shots over BYU and then-senior Andres Gonzales earned medalist honors with a 9-under 207, defeating Texter by two shots.
UNLV opened this season with a sixth place finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate earlier this month.
