LAS VEGAS - The No. 15 UNLV men's golf team will open the 2007 spring season at the PING Arizona Intercollegiate, which will be played Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 29-30 at Arizona National Golf Club (par 71, 6,900 yards) in Tucson, Ariz.
The 54-hole tournament will have 36 holes played on Monday with the final 18 on Tuesday. Play will begin each day at 8 a.m. MST.
Sixteen teams are scheduled to compete in the tournament: host Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, California, UC Irvine, East Tennessee State, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon, Pepperdine, UTEP, Tennessee and UNLV.
Competing for UNLV in the event will be senior Ryan Keeney, juniors C.J. Gatto, Matt Kinsinger and Jarred Texter and sophomore Eddie Olson.
BYU won last year's PING Arizona Intercollegiate with an 18-under 834, while medalist honors went to Arizona's Henry Liaw, who won at 9-under 204 after a four-hole playoff.
