UNLV vs. San Diego State Game Notes
-UNLV honored its 15 seniors before their final home game in what was one of the latest kickoff times in decades at the school (8:06 p.m. PST).
-In the 38-30 final, UNLV lost its sixth consecutive game overall and fell to 1-10 in games played in the month of November since 2003.
-The 30 points by UNLV were the most scored by the Rebels this season and the most since downing Air Force 42-39 in the 2006 finale.
-Tonight's attendance was 18,837, giving the Rebels a final season per-game average of 29,281, setting the all-time school record. The previous record was 27,582 set during the 2002 season. The total attendance for the year was 175,684, which also set a UNLV single-season record and included a school0-record three sellouts (Wisconsin, Hawaii and BYU).
-With his first-quarter reception, UNLV wide receiver Casey Flair extended his reception streak to 33 games. Flair has now caught at least one pass in every game of his Rebel career. Flair finished the game with a game-high eight receptions for 88 yards and a score. He moved from ninth to seventh in career receptions at the school with 144.
-Rebel QB Omar Clayton started the game 5-7 in passing attempts but left the game in the first half with a fractured metacarpal on his right (throwing) hand. Freshman Travis Dixon, who started the first seven games of the season, replaced Clayton and completed 13 of 22 attempts for 185 yards and a career-high three TD passes. It marked the most scoring passes by a Rebel QB since Shane Steichen threw five vs. New Mexico in Game Six of 2006.
-LB Beau Bell's nine total tackles Saturday the senior from fifth to second at UNLV in career tackles with 297. The total also moved him from 10th to sixth on the Mountain West Conference all-time list.
-Bell continued his All-America season at linebacker by making an amazing play on a receiver to grab his fourth interception of the season - all of which have come in the last four games. He then lateraled the ball to teammate Mil'Von James who returned the turnover 31 yards.
-RB Frank Summers finished the game with 26 carries and 187 yards, the fourth time this season that the junior back reached the century mark on the ground. It was part of a big night on the ground for the Rebels, who finished with a season-high 275 yards rushing, which were the most-ever under head coach Mike Sanford and the most for the program since netting 311 at Utah on Oct. 23, 2004.
-In building a 21-0 lead at halftime, SDSU scored more points in the first two quarters than it had in the program's three previous trips to Sam Boyd Stadium combined (20).
-Rodelin Anthony's 31-yard touchdown reception was the longest of the sophomore's career. He finished with a career-high 72 yards and two touchdowns on three total grabs.
-Channing Trotter's 17-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the first score of his career.
-San Diego State's Mekell Wesley returned a kickoff 89 yards for a score in the fourth quarter, the first time that an opponent had returned a kickoff for a score since Tony Pennyman of Utah State returned one 92 yards in 2005.
-UNLV finished the night with six more first downs than SDSU (24-18). Overall, the Rebels have gained 12 more first down than their opponents in 2007.
